2025 Better Canada Youth Forum

Students!

How do you see the future of Canadians? Are you interested in finding ways to reduce poverty and racial wage gaps? In increasing the number of Indigenous people and women in senior management roles? In having your say on environmental issues that affect Canadians in their everyday lives? Let’s come together as youth, social policy advocates, business leaders and concerned citizens to have an open, thought-provoking discussion on where we stand as a country.

The Telfer School of Management is committed to building a better Canada, and is the research partner for the Coalition for a Better Future.  On March 24, Telfer will convene its third annual Better Canada Youth Forum, in conjunction with the imminent launch of the coalition’s 2025 Scorecard Report on Canada’s economic progress.

Discussions will cover key metrics determining Canada’s success and the ways youth like you can build a better Canada. Dialogue will centre on the following six themes:

• Living standards
• Human capital
• Scale through innovation
• Canadian global champions
• Climate change
• Economic resilience

Campus Tour: Carleton University - Political Management

What Does a Better Canada Look Like?

The Coalition for a Better Future co-chairs, the Hon. Anne McLellan and the Hon. Lisa Raitt, will participate in a Campus Tour event with students of Carleton University’s Political Management program. André Turcotte, Program Director of the Clayton H. Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management, will moderate the conversation.

Canada is at a critical juncture. Confidence in our system of government is eroding, and many Canadians feel disconnected from the decision-making process and uncertain about the future. These challenges demand urgent attention and present an opportunity to reimagine what a thriving, inclusive, and sustainable Canada could look like.

By engaging with students and diverse stakeholders in thoughtful dialogue and collective action, we aim to turn discontent into determination and division into unity to foster Canada’s future prosperity.

The Coalition for a Better Future believes building a more robust economy starts with young people and encourages them to define the future they desire. To achieve this, the Campus Tour series, supported by Shell Canada, brings our co-chairs to universities, colleges, and training centres across Canada to speak with the leaders of tomorrow.

The 2024 Better Canada Youth Forum

The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa is committed to building a better Canada, and is the research partner for the Coalition for a Better Future.  On March 18, Telfer with AIESEC Canada will convene a national youth dialogue in conjunction with the imminent launch of the Coalition’s latest Scorecard on Canada's Progress. This second annual Better Canada Youth Forum will connect business leaders with post-secondary student leaders from across Canada (25+ universities and other institutes) to discuss how to continue building a better Canada and a better future.

Discussions will evaluate key metrics that determine Canada’s success and how youth can shape their own future and build a better Canada. Dialogue will centre on six themes and three central goals: winning globally, living better, and growing sustainably.

This event is part of the Coalition for a Better Future’s Campus Tour program.
